Syrian Refugee Camp in Arsal Engulfed by Flooding

Strong winds and heavy downpours led to severe flooding at the Syrian refugee camp in Arsal on Thursday into Friday, December 2.

The flooding destroyed many of the tents and temporary structures housing over 200 Syrian families resident at the camp, forcing them evacuate the area, according to <a href="http://english.aawsat.com/2016/12/article55363192/floods-sweep-syrian-refugee-encampments-lebanons-arsal" target="_blank">reports</a>.

<a href="https://twitter.com/aboalhodaalhoms/status/804506184334057472" target="_blank">Video</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/EhduShwh/status/804508244861419520" target="_blank">images</a> shared on social media from the camp shows the extent of the flooding, with bedding and personal belongings seen floating in the floodwaters.
