Supercell Storms Over Queensland Wreak Havoc Across State

Wild weather on December 3 left a trail of destruction across Queensland with several supercell storms moving into the state from New South Wales in the late afternoon.

The <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-03/storms-lash-queensland-as-heatwave-continues/8089680" target="_blank"><span class="caps">ABC</span> reported</a> the a teenager was struck by lightning during the thunderstorm. Energex <a href="https://www.energex.com.au/home/power-outages/emergency-outages" target="_blank">reported the storms</a> knocked out power for about 37,000 homes across the state. About 1,600 homes also experienced outages in Brisbane’s <span class="caps">CBD</span>.
