Police evacuated 2,600 people from the borough of Neukölln in Berlin on December 6 after an unexploded Second World War bomb was unearthed, <a href="http://www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/fliegerbombe-in-berlin-neukoelln-97-prozent-sind-bereits-evakuiert/14938620.html" target="_blank">reports said</a>.

A gas company was called in to turn off the supply before the defusion of the device began, police said.
