Forces loyal to the Assad regime initiated a ground assault against Syrian rebels in southwestern Aleppo’s Seif al-Dawla Street during the early morning hours of December 6. The assault was preluded by overnight airstrikes and artillery strikes.

At least four civilians were killed in artillery shelling of a residential area of the al-Zaidi neighborhood, located along Seif al-Dawla Street, according to <a href="http://freesyria.tv/?p=35621" target="_blank">activist media reports</a>.

Clashes were also reported in the nearby <a href="https://syrianpc.com/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AB%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D9%8A%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B9%D9%8A%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%86%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%B7-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%AC%D8%A8%D9%87%D8%A9-%D8%AD%D9%8A%D9%8A-%D8%B3%D9%8A%D9%81-%D8%A7/" target="_blank">Salahuddin neighborhood</a>, where rebel groups purportedly fought over the area’s main market and a school complex. Losses were reported on both sides; however, Storyful could not independently verify the death toll.
