Forces loyal to the Assad regime claimed the capture of several Aleppo neighborhoods on December 7, including Bab al-Nirab, Farafra, and Old Aleppo, while also gaining ground in the rebel-held al-Marjah neighborhood, located in southeastern Aleppo.

This video shows Syrian forces entering what appears to be the al-Marjah neighborhood, with graffiti showing the name “Jabhat al-Nusra,” and a number of purportedly local residents waving Syrian flags and greeting the soldiers. The video closes with several shots from inside what was described as a rebel safe house, with stockpiles of humanitarian aid shown in a room, including some provided by Islamic Relief Worldwide. Additional video footage purports to show at least one rigged car bomb and numerous munitions.
