The Italian Coast Guard released video on December 7 showing the rescue a day earlier of a group of migrants found drifting in an inflatable boat in the Mediterranean.

A total of 473 migrants were rescued in five separate operations on December 6, the coast guard reported.

In this video, a member of the rescue team with a camera boards the inflatable boat as it is guided to safety. “We are Italians. We come to help you,” he says. The video shows the migrants, including a baby, being helped up onto the rescue ship.

The rescues come just days after the Italian coast guard reported the discovery of more than 1,000 people and 16 dead bodies on December 4 and 5.
