Students at Georgetown University held a sit-in at the president’s office on December 8 to protest the university’s forthcoming apparel contract renewal with Nike.

The students, led by the campus group Georgetown Solidarity Committee, said the university should not renew the contract with Nike on account of the poor treatment and working conditions for overseas workers who produce Georgetown apparel, which they say breaks Georgetown University’s code of conduct.

The students have vowed to occupy the office until their demands have been met.
