Members of the Nai Syrian Children’s Choir celebrated the anniversary of their arrival in Canada with a concert for members of the Canadian parliament, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on December 8.

<a href="http://www.culturelink.ca/" target="_blank">CultureLink’s</a> Nai Syrian Children’s Choir, based in Toronto, works to help integrate newly arrived refugees. According to <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/syrian-childrens-choir-house-of-commons-1.3886169" target="_blank"><span class="caps">CBC</span>,</a> the children meet every Wednesday in Toronto’s Parkdale neighborhood to learn about music.

For many of the children and their families this was their <a href="https://www.facebook.com/naikidschoir/videos/1799413016968402/" target="_blank">first visit</a> to Canada’s capital city. Trudeau pledged in late 2015 that Canada would help resettle 25,000 refugees fleeing from the conflict in Syria.
