On Monday, December 12, a vigil was held in downtown Orlando to remember and honor the victims of the shooting at Pulse Nightclub that claimed the lives of 49 people six months previously.

These videos and photos from the Orlando Police show the “Pulse angels” at the ceremony. Sisaundra Lewis, a performer from “The Voice” sang as the angels made their way to the Pulse Nightclub, where the vigil was held.

According to the police, the angels were there to surround the nightclub with love. The angels are members of Orlando’s theater community, which banded together to protect mourners from anti-gay protesters following the shooting.
