Vigil Held to Mark Six Months Since Pulse Nightclub Shooting

A remembrance vigil was held on Monday, December 12, at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, to pay tribute to the 49 people killed in a mass shooting. Monday marked six months since the <a href="https://newswire.storyful.com/collections/orlando-shooting_2600" target="_blank">June 12 shooting.</a>

These photos, seen at Pulse Nightclub, show candles and a Christmas tree with photos of those killed in decorative bulbs. <a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/orange/os-pulse-memorials-roundup-20161212-story.html" target="_blank">The Orlando Sentinel</a> reported dozens of community members were in attendance and security was heightened. Security guards checked bags and purses for weapons and used metal detector wands.

Forty-nine members of Orlando’s theater community dressed as angels <a href="http://stryfl.com/3erz" target="_blank">and walked down</a> South Orange Street to shield the <a href="https://twitter.com/OrlandoPolice/status/808464789626351620" target="_blank">vigil</a> from protesters.
