Aleppo Activist Warns of Bombings and 'Executions' as Government Forces Tighten Grip

Lina Shamy, an activist who tweets from east Aleppo, released a video on December 12 calling on viewers to save the city.

Speaking in the video, Shamy says those left in east Aleppo are “exposed to a genocide”. She says that “50,000” people who “rebelled against the dictator al-Assad” are now “threatened with … executions or dying under bombing.”

Shamy also alludes to reports of summary executions in east Aleppo. <a href="" target="_blank">A pro-regime</a> media source denied the allegations of summary executions.

The Syrian regime <a href="" target="_blank">announced on December 12</a> that it had captured as much as 96 percent of the city, leaving thousands of civilians trapped inside a small area of southern Aleppo’s al-Ansari Mashad District, according to <a href="*/stories/151525?referred_from=World%20News" target="_blank">activist reports from inside the city</a>.
