Southern Right Whale and Calf Swim Past West Australian Coast

Rumble A southern right whale making her gentle way along the Western Australia coastline was spotted with her calf in October 2016.

Drone footage published on December 11 shows the whale and her young one swimming past the Great Southern region, where the beaches of Fitzgerald National Park meet the aquamarine water of the Great Australian Bight.

Their migration to the south is a typical sight later in the year, when <a href="http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/Things_to_See_and_Do/Natures_Calendar/Pages/Whale_Migration.aspx" target="_blank">southern right whales seek cooler temperatures</a>.
