Rumble Sacramento firefighters rescued four fishermen who became stranded on Tuesday, December 13, when the flood gates of the Nimbus Dam were opened.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District warned the public in a video posted on their Facebook page, to pay attention to scheduled water releases to becoming stranded. ABC10 interviewed one of the fishermen, Justin Lewis, who ignored the water release siren because the group felt the rising water level was not a threat. The American River dam released water to increase storage space in reservoirs following snow-melt in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
