Portland, Oregon, was under a winter storm warning on Wednesday, December 14, and was expected to receive two to four inches of snow. The storm hit early Wednesday afternoon and by the evening, residents <a href="https://www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/article/620774" target="_blank">were advised</a> not to travel on roadways.

<a href="http://www.kgw.com/weather/another-winter-storm-could-hit-portland-this-week/368290103" target="_blank"><span class="caps">KGW</span> reported</a> the heaviest of snow fell in northern Oregon, with Columbia River Gorge predicted to receive eight inches of snow. Avalanches closed down Highway 20 near Hoodoo ski area on the Santiam Pass, <a href="https://twitter.com/ORStatePolice/status/809169089734189056" target="_blank">reported the Oregon State Police.</a>
