Two skiers were rescued on Monday, December 12, after being trapped overnight in Tony Baker Gully outside the Cypress Mountain ski resort in British Columbia, due to an avalanche.

According to North Shore News, rescuers contacted the skiers via text message and coached them into getting their GPS coordinates, allowing them to zero in on the location. After a delay in rescue due to poor weather conditions, the skiers were brought to safety the next day with mild cases of hypothermia.

North Shore Rescue has warned the public to stay in-bounds as new slabs of snow increase the possibility of more avalanches. The video shows North Shore Rescue volunteers carrying out the rescue operation.
