Thousands of people gathered in Karachi, Jamshed’s hometown, for the funeral, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Jamshed was a member of the popular band Vital Signs in the 1980s, before he launched a solo career. In 2004, however, he gave up his career to become an evangelical Muslim preacher. He appeared on TV and traveled to preach.
