<a href="https://twitter.com/811Syria/status/809390162010632192" target="_blank">Opposition sources</a> said that 1,150 people arrived on the same day into rebel-controlled areas west of the city.

The Syrian Red Crescent said it was working with the Red Cross to evacuate people.

Pro-opposition media said a Red Crescent convoy arrived at the Sukari neighborhood to prepare for the evacuation.

The first of a series of planned evacuation convoys leaving east Aleppo on December 15 came under fire at the al-Ramousah checkpoint, according to local media.
