Residents Prepare to Leave as Rogue River Floods in Southern Oregon

As the Rogue River in southwest Oregon began flooding on December 15, locals were warned to prepare to leave if the waters rose higher, <a href="" target="_blank"><span class="caps">KTVL</span> reported</a>.

Officials in Jackson and Josephine counties were <a href="" target="_blank">offering sandbags</a> to protect properties against flooding.

The United States Geological Survey (<span class="caps">USGS</span>) <a href=",00060&site_no=14361500" target="_blank">reported</a> that the river was discharging more than 40,000 cubic feet of water per second on December 15 – a rise from the approximately 4,500 being discharged the day before.
