Saving lives is serious business. But it’s also good to have an inspirational keepsake along for the ride to keep patients smiling – and that’s exactly what RACQ LifeFlight did when they brought Drummer Bear to tend to one man in Queensland.

Lifeflight crews were called to Lady Elliot Island on December 17 after a 69-year-old man suffered from a suspected cardiac condition while diving off the coast. Two doctors, who were on the boat, tended to the man until he was brought back to shore and airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital by LifeFlight crews in a stable condition.

This video shows the man, Robin, and his family grinning ear to ear while holding on to Drummer Bear.
