Strong winds and large hailstones hammered south-eastern Queensland on Sunday, December 18, damaging property and knocking down trees.

According to the <span class="caps">ABC</span>, <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-19/qld-weather-crews-clean-up-after-storms-lash-south-east/8131314" target="_blank">one family was rescued</a> after their car was swept away in floodwaters at Ipswich, while rescue crews responded to <a href="http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/queensland-weather-severe-storm-warning-for-parts-of-southeast-20161218-gtdjzo.html" target="_blank">almost 200 calls for help</a> as trees and powerlines came crashing down.
