The Overland Park Police Department released a terrifying video of a crash that left three of their officers injured. The video, shot on December 17, was recorded while the officers were assisting another crash that has happened previously, when a white SUV lost control on the icy road and slammed into the back of the police cruiser.

The CCTV footage doesn’t show much at first, but we are well aware that these clips always show the good bits at the end. The cruiser is parked behind the vehicle that had crashed previously and a tow truck is standing out front. You can see snow falling and a mild fog hanging over the highway. Three vehicles approach the scene, when suddenly the last one, a white SUV, starts losing control of the obviously icy road and finally slams into the rear of the black police cruiser. The cruiser can be seen rolling towards the flatbed truck, climbing up and then flipping over to the side.

Police Chief Frank Donchez said in a tweet, which included the video, the officer sustained only minor injuries. The other two officers also suffered minor injuries in the other crash.

A storm system coated Kansas City area roads with ice before snow fell later in the day on Saturday, according to reports. Missouri Highway Patrol reported they responded to 70 crashes on Saturday.

Extra points for the ramp! No that wasn't a slam against a cop. It was recognition for mad skillz ;-)
