Flooded Roads After Heavy Downpour in Broome

Broome experienced the wettest December in over 45 years with stormy weather expected as Cyclone Yvette looms over the region.

Over 7.8 inches of rain fell on Broome over a 24 hour period from December 22, <a href="http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-23/record-rainfall-swamps-broome/8145556" target="_blank"><span class="caps">ABC</span> Kimberley reported</a>.

<a href="https://twitter.com/BOM_au/status/812160223343349760" target="_blank">The Bureau of Meteorology said</a> a tropical low moved in over Western Australia’s north with bands of heavy rainfall. Severe weather alerts <a href="http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDW24100.html" target="_blank">were issued</a>.
