Three Dead After Small Planes Collide Above McKinney

Two small planes collided mid-air over McKinney, Texas, on December 31 resulting in three deaths.

The pilot from each plane was killed, <a href="https://twitter.com/CorySmithNBC5/status/815383266203205633" target="_blank">according to Cory Smith, a reporter with <span class="caps">NBC</span> 5.</a> Police were unable to confirm if the third person, a passenger, was killed died mid-air or on the ground.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed with <a href="http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/collin-county/plane-crash-reported-in-mckinney/380987179" target="_blank"><span class="caps">WFAA</span></a> the crashed occurred near Aero Country Airport shortly after 5:30 pm on Saturday.

The debris landed on North Custer Road and Virginia Parkway. Fire crews had extinguished the flames by 6 pm. These videos show emergency crews cordoning off the crash site and smoke billowing from the plane remains shortly after the crash.
