Activists Claim Ceasefire Breach in Northern Homs Province, Two Casualties Reported

Syrian activists <a href="https://www.qasioun.net/ar/news/show/46145/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D9%85_%D9%8A%D8%AE%D8%B1%D9%81_%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%87%D8%AF%D9%86%D8%A9_%D9%85%D8%AC%D8%AF%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%8B_%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%82%D8%B5%D9%81_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%86_%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84_%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%B5_%D9%81%D9%8A%D8%AF%D9%8A%D9%88" target="_blank">reported</a> a breach in the nationwide ceasefire on January 2 after forces loyal to the Assad regime fired artillery shells, mortars, and heavy machine gunfire into residential areas of al-Rastan, located in the northern Homs province.

The footage shows the family of Mohammad Qasim Haj Yousif, a teenager killed in the artillery fire, mourning around the wrapped up body. An elderly resident of al-Rastan, Mahmoud Lahoud, was also killed in the incident while several others were wounded, according to additional <a href="http://alekhbariya.net/ar/node/26113" target="_blank">activist media reports</a>.
