NVIDIA or AMD? Which one is better on Linux?

The difference between the two major GPU manufacturers has been a debate amongst linux gamers for a while. The consensus among most linux gamers is AMD, and AMD makes sense, open source drivers, better support overall and NVIDIA being overall trash at good support. This is just my own experience with my setup currently.
