Watch This Penguin's Hilarious Reaction When He Touches Icy Water
Penguins are perhaps the most popular birds on Earth, thanks to their incredible life cycles and charming tuxedo-clad appearances. Among their long list of superlatives, penguins can survive sub-freezing temperatures and gale force winds, dive over 1600 feet deep, hold their breath for more than 15 minutes, and survive without food for weeks by living off stored fat.
Most penguins like nothing better than to get their feathers wet with a quick swim, but this penguin doesn't seem too pleased with the water approaching. It is fearfully fleeing from the water after realizing the sea is way too cold! The ocean gives him shivers and he runs away from waves! The baby Gentoo was filmed at Cape Dolphin, Falkland Islands, flapping around hysterically on the cold sea-swept sand and kelp after taking its first dip in the ocean.
Later, the hydrophobic penguin is shown shaking its head in disbelief, much to the amusement of videographer Stephen Hope. The footage was caught by Falkland Islands Television (FITV) who claim they’ve “never seen anything like it”. Penguins are usually water-loving creatures. There are believed to be up to 120,000 breeding pairs of Gentoo penguins on the archipelago, according to a 2010 survey by the Falklands Conservation. These charismatic waddlers, who populate the Antarctic Peninsula and numerous islands around the frozen continent, are the penguin world’s third largest members, reaching a height of 30 inches and a weight of 12 pounds.
Apart from Arctic expeditions, the behavioral pattern of penguins can be well observed on those members of the species who live in captivity. Take for example this cute group. Four penguins chase a bright dot on a wall at the zoo, can you imagine? Take a look.
We have all seen those funny videos with cute cats who are chasing a laser pointer dots on a floor and even on walls, and we all loved them! They really make us laugh out loud, but this video brings the whole thing to a new level! But, just to be clear - this one is not about cats, but it has a dot chasing like you’ve never seen before! It’s so hilarious that you simply don’t want to miss it! This video shows four penguins in the zoo who spotted a bright dot on the wooden wall in their cage. The dot is actually a reflection from a man's watch, but they can’t know that. They just see something funny on the wall and they start to chase it! So, wherever the bright dot goes, they follow it! And, the funniest thing is when the dot disappears for a moment and they all get so confused!
