With people wanting to surprise people they care about with a package delivered to their front door, only for it to be picked up by someone else, there is a myriad of people who would love to secure their possessions.

The dummy box is placed on a porch for the world to see. What the world doesn’t see is the 12-gauge shotgun blank inside. All it takes is for some poor, unfortunate soul to show their curious nature and cue the schadenfreude!

To clear things up, the Tacoma police department have said that the device may look illegal, but there are still no open cases against its inventor. Even though these blanks can, in fact, hurt people, Barrow insists that the device is completely safe for the user and the target. They just make a really loud bang that dissuades sticky fingers from ever inching towards your porch.
