Have you ever heard about GONGUR? It’s a very interesting and unique tradition of herding the horses in Iceland. According to these tradition, every summer farmers from Iceland are setting free their young horses into the Northern Mountains, where they stay until autumn. Their goal is to teach their horses to feel free and to develop their awarness of independence and skill. It’s so amazing how they set them free and then with the help from the community the farmers go back to the mountains to find and bring back their loving horses. This tradition sometimes can be really intimidating and difficult, but these farmers are commited to it. But their commitment its mostly for the love and care for the horses, it’s not only for themselves. They say that when they go up in the mountain, they have a feeling like they are on the top of the world!
