Summer may be far away, but that doesn’t stop us from longing for those long, hot days, when we can lounge in the sun, sipping on something nice and cool to keep the balance going. Some like ice water, other like a good beer. But for those of you out there who are serious java freaks like Sara Lynn the Domestic Geek here, there can be nothing sweeter than a tall glass of some delicious iced coffee to keep you cool, while the rest of the world scorches.

Iced coffee is really a go-to summer drink, but why make it the same every time? Check out there tips if you want to breathe some excitement into your favorite cool beverage.

Wanna add sweetness and creaminess to your coffee at once? Try adding sweetened condensed milk. It works with both cold and hot coffee and adds a delicious creaminess to the drink.

Wanna sweeten your iced coffee and avoid the creamer, but those sugar crystals take forever to dissolve? You can make simple syrup! The best thing about making simple syrup at home is you can flavor it any way you like! Try adding a stick of cinnamon or a pod of vanilla, or just go the extra mile and infuse it with coconut shavings. Just strain out the solids and keep it in the fridge. Yum!

Sara Lynn goes the extra mile here by letting us in on a little secret of hers, the Inside Out Iced Coffee. Instead of using regular ice, she makes flavored iced cubes by freezing coffee with some chocolate sauce mixed in. When they freeze solid, fill a glass with as many cubes as it can fit and top it with milk. Garnish with whipped cream and some chocolate shavings.

For a more decadent treat, try adding a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream and topping it with some hot coffee. Our mouths water just by writing this, sooooo nice!

Lastly, if you want to sneak in some coffee into your breakfast smoothie, this might just be the best way to do it! Add some ice, freshly brewed coffee, a banana, some yogurt and a scoop of chocolate flavored protein powder into a blender. Whiz until smooth and enjoy!

How do you like your iced coffee?
