Autumn season may be glorious to experience, especially in those few days when the sun is shining warm, but most of the times, it can be dreadful, rainy weather. It is one of the things why we can’t really be happy about fall; that and flu season!

But one of the best ways to both ward off flu and cure it once it comes is also one of the oldest— and tastiest. We mean chicken noodle soup, of course, and we went in search of the ultimate homemade version.

Check out this video recipe from The Domestic Geek, who shows off a method we’ve never seen before. Watch and see how you can get all the taste and health benefits of this classic dish by cooking it yourself.

You’ll Need

– 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
– 4 celery ribs, peeled and sliced
– 1 whole chicken
– 6 to 8 cups chicken broth
– 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
– 1/2 pound pasta, cooked
