Manatees are sometimes called sea cows, because they are very similar to those land animals. They are docile creatures and very slow eaters, hence the moniker. Manatees are large, fully-aquatic marine mammals of the order Sirenia. They are sometimes known as sea cows. The manatees form the genus Trichechus. There are three manatee species. They are mainly herbivores, spending most of their time grazing in shallow waters at depths of 1-2 meters.

The name comes from the Spanish manatí, which itself comes from a Carib word meaning "breast". Unlike land cows, manatees are very curious beasts, which has been the cause of so many fatalities in the past. They have been known to approach vessels in the water, breach and inspect the objects, even with humans present.

This little guy has decided on dropping in and giving the humans a visit all the way down to the coast line. We're guessing that at this point these people were cleaning their docks when this friendly Manatee decided to give them a visit. Without any hesitation these guys make it fee at home by spraying it with the hose right on its belly which is literally like giving it a tummy scratch.

With that said, it should not be a surprise to watch this video. A wild manatee rolls over and enjoys a refreshing drink and belly scratch while being sprayed by a garden hose off the coast in Florida. What a priceless moment !
