Here's the recipe for beef in coconut milk with chili paste, garlic, and chili pepper:

Ingredients:
- 500g beef (lean, thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon chili paste (to taste)
- 1 chili pepper (finely chopped)
- 1 lemongrass stalk (minced)
- 400ml coconut milk
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions:
1. Heat vegetable oil over medium heat in a large skillet or pot. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft and translucent.

2. Add minced garlic, chili paste, chopped chili pepper, and minced lemongrass. Sauté all the ingredients together for about a minute to release their aromas.

3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and cook until the meat is browned on all sides.

4. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt to taste. Stir well and bring it to a boil.

5. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, until the beef becomes tender and absorbs the flavors of the spices.

6. Serve the beef in coconut milk hot, garnished with fresh cilantro. You can serve it with rice or noodles of your choice.
