Now to put this in perspective…Paul is addressing sin in the church…the Bible is clear that we are all sinners…we have all fallen short of the glory of God.
Even Solomon said at the dedication of the temple:
“If they sin against You (God), for there is no one who does not sin.” (2 Chronicles 6:36 ESV)
There is no one who does not sin…John tells us that if we say we do not sin we are liars.
That presents a problem…especially for those under the Law…because the Law is there to not only point out their sin…
But to remind the sinner that they are under Gods judgment and condemnation for their sin.
So, Paul encourages the people that in Jesus we have the grace of God…our sins are forgiven in Christ.
That there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
