Democrat lawmakers propose bill to add 4 seats to the Supreme Court

A group of Democratic lawmakers announced new legislation that would add four additional seats to the Supreme Court and expand it to 13 Justices. During a press conference in front of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA) said Republicans had captured the court against the will of most Americans. “By expanding the court we can restore balance to the court, repair the damage done by these extreme right-wing partisan groups that do not represent the citizens of this country, and we can protect our democracy,” said Senator Tina Smith (D-MN).
