The cyclical nature fascism and stupidity has been kicking people's arses lately. It would be less disturbing if, as a community, we didn't treat "ignorance", "violent fascism", and other twin movements like they were new. As if there was no way of knowing how to deal these people. Many people are like fruit flies and can't remember anything from two years ago. That's when Trump went berserk on Election Night, and started spitting out the lies that would lead to a violent insurrection on the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021. From November 2020 to January 2021, news organizations realized that they could not blindly promote Trump's lies and violent threats. It is their civic and corporate duty to avoid putting him on the air without context. This week, CNN decided that it would be like 2016 again. CNN aired a town hall with Donald Trump, the insurrectionist who has been impeached twice and is currently under indictment. CNN was, as I said yesterday - grossly irresponsible. In the 24 hours following the town hall, CNN received widespread criticism from all sides. It got so bad, that Anderson Cooper had to make a public statement at the beginning of his CNN program last night. You have every right to feel outraged and angry today, and you should never watch this channel again. Do you really think that listening only to those who agree with you and staying in your own silo will make this person disappear? I am so embarrassed for Anderson Cooper. What in the f-k is he thinking? It's obvious that sensible people understand that Trump will not be "going away" anytime soon. We know the white nationalists are not going away either. But we all agree it would be f****** irresponsible of a news channel to broadcast a neo Nazi town hall without editing, fact-checking, or context. CNN did exactly that. AGAIN. They did it again in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Why does CNN act as if November 2020 did not happen? The insurrection did not happen? We shouldn't be forced to watch as major news networks learn that it is a bad thing to act as a platform for violent sexual predators, white nationalists and insurrectionists.
