Huguenot Island Park, Laughing Gull Nesting Colony, walk in dunes.

Laughing Gulls in the 1000s chose this island to nest because it is free from terrestrial predators and very rich in food. I saw no juveniles or fledglings. When they leave the nest, the park closes down the beach, so the birds can have the whole area. Laughing Gulls during breeding are out looking for food 24 hours a day. This is an extremely rich inlet. I saw each bird going in for a kill, was successful. Birds flying around with fish or whatever, showing off their catch. I am guessing the Royal Terns will take over the territory to nest soon, after the Gulls leave. Stole the thumbnail, my camera had big issues, so relied on my GoPro.
