In this video, we explore the future of electric vehicle recycling by focusing on electric vehicle battery recycling. With the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in the market, the disposal of their batteries has become a significant concern. Redwood Materials has received a $2 billion loan for EV battery recycling. Chemical recycling involves breaking down the battery cells into their chemical components, recovering valuable materials that can be used to produce new batteries. Redwood Materials is in the lithium-ion battery recycling business, they are in the process of discovering the best way to reuse the materials inside batteries that are no longer serviceable to make new batteries without having to mine and process new materials.
