In our study, we do a survey and word study of "gifts" in Scripture, demonstrating how important it is to carefully note context, usage and intent of the divine author when defining any word in the Bible. That is why dictionaries fail to provide the exact definition to a word without such notation of context. Bottom line, gift giving when done with the glory of God in mind, is a commendable act any time including at Christmastime.
