Timestamps:

00:04 - What we will talk about - Whistler, Vancouver, City design, transportation, Guerrilla Gardening

01:21 - Why was I in British Columbia? Well, our kids are getting older, and we wanted to take them somewhere special while we have them all in the house. Whistler Photos/vidoes - STUNNING.

04:09 - Guerrilla Gardening discusion in a parking lot. Key topics like planting natives, where/how to get away with it, and responsibility.

08:20 - Blackberries - how your Guerrilla Gardening can go VERY WRONG. Warnings.

10:26 - Mass transportation is a HUGE part of the climate change solution. Here's why.

12:16 - Why the free market will not, or more accurately CAN NOT fix our problems. This has socio-political implications. Your VOTES matter, and this is why. Using Whistler mass transit as an example of world class cities (also citing Copenhagen and Amsterdam). Skip this section if you hate politics stuff.

19:02 - GUERRILLA GARDENING JACKPOT - a must see.

25:34 - University of BC and permaculture/garden themes throughout the campus. Signals towards how society is changing. Universities ARE indoctrination centers (there you go, Ben Shapiro), but they are indoctrinating our next generation to CARE about the world and how we treat it. Sign me up for some indoctrination!

Today's video wasn't really planned. I got stuck in Vancouver without my family for 2 days, so what is a permie to do? Well, probably walk around Vancouver and look for community gardens and food forest projects to film!

Part 1 - The first day at the Hotel, walking around discussing the trip, blackberries, guerrilla gardening, and city design (mass transportation, walkable cities, taxation and government) and using those concepts to discuss possible paths forward for human society.

Part 2 - Coming soon, hoping on the bus and spending 12 hours exploring Urban Vancouver City, going to community gardens, Food forests, and actually residents that I walk by who have killer urban gardens and talking to them! Yes, I'm that kind of guy. Plus, every gardener loves being told that someone else appreciates what they are doing!

So lets hit part 1 running, come with me and enjoy the show. It's a bit of a potpourri today - but it all links via Permaculture. In fact, one of the main underlying themes of this episode is that ... once you infect your brain with permaculture, you start seeing permaculture considerations EVERYWHERE.

All the best,
Keith
