Samantha Markle claimed that her half-sister the Duchess Sussex used her six-episode Netflix series as a weapon in order to spread "malicious and hurtful lies" about her. The new allegations were part of an updated version of Markle’s defamation suit against Meghan. It was filed just hours before a two week deadline set by a judge for her, after Meghan’s motion to dismiss their original claim. Markle's lawyer said in a statement that they would be back with an "even better" case. The amended complaint focuses on Harry Meghan, rather than Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Samantha Markle said that Meghan used statements to "demonize her" by portraying her as a "liar," a "fame seeker," and a "racist." She claimed that Meghan's supporters launched "hateful smear campaign" against her because of the show. She said she was the victim of "death threat" and "trolls," who hacked into her Twitter account. She filed her first case in March 2022. Meghan was sued for "defamation" and "injurious falsehoods." Legally, I believe Samantha's re-filed lawsuit has at least more weight, simply because Meghan and Harry are executive producers of the Netflix show. You know that Netflix's attorneys went through all of it, and nothing was allowed to air before being checked by legal. Samantha is also embarrassed. Samantha's own daughter, whom Samantha didn't raise, called Samantha a nutcase for being obsessed with Meghan.
