E-Collar or Treats? Which Is Better

Welcome to Standing Stone Kennels! Which is better? Using an e-collar or treats? It’s a question we get asked all the time “should you use treats or an e-collar?” How about you use both. We start our training with a clicker and the dogs morning and afternoon meal as the reward, this being the positive reinforcement. Once the behavior has been developed and your pup is old enough we will turn to the e-collar which would be the negative reinforcement. Both methods of operant condition help strengthen behaviors.
