Border Patrol rescues baby left by river near US-Mexico border

A U.S. Border Patrol agent rescued a one-year-old Guatemalan child who was abandoned by a smuggler at the U.S.-Mexico border. A released video shows the smuggler exiting the Colorado River with the baby, setting the child next to a border barrier, and then returning to the river alone. Customs and Border Protection reports the child has been identified and placed in the custody of the Health and Human Services Office of Refuge Resettlement.
