Finished Making My Tiny Home Butcher Block Counter Tops S36

Friday morning I finished making my tiny house kitchen counter tops. Now I need to sand the wood smooth to prepare for the top coat.

I worked hard and fast to get the kitchen counter tops finished so that I can start sanding them. It will take about five days to get the top coat on the wood. I want about 5 coats of varnish to protect the wood from spills, food and water.

I used scrap pieces of my homemade paneling which I am cutting out of aged 2x4 lumber. These are the cutoffs from my wall paneling.

They fit perfectly on the kitchen counter tops.

I am very pleased with the results so far.

I spent some time sanding the first section to see how it will look. It takes quite a while to get the wood sanded flat. The paneling is not all the same thickness due to my tired old free table saw.

But it is looking very nice in my tiny house on wheels now.
