Ralph trained in mineral surveying, but became a computer analyst. But after a change in profession he entered aviation as a flying instructor, and an airline captain. Thus he has studied and observed climate and weather for 40 years in the real world, as a part of his profession.

00:00 Introduction
05:01 When CO2 is high, the Earth cools
07:29 Orbital cycles
09:26 Great summers trigger interglacials
16:22 Feedback: Dust on the ground
20:40 Every single interglacial is proceeded by high dust
26:43 The more CO2 we have, the better
28:57 Below 150 ppm CO2, most plants can't breed
31:57 CO2 equivalent at altitude is lower
32:39 Gobi desert dust
34:42 CO2 death zone for plants
37:46 When CO2 is low, dust is high
38:59 Albedo changes
42:19 Ice sheets: 100k years to build up, 5k years to melt
45:19 Greenland without ice is a big dish
48:03 Temperatures in tropics don't change much
50:50 The Gobi was a CO2 desert, not a precipitation desert
51:25 Tree lines determined by CO2, not temperature
52:50 Summary
56:02 It is low CO2 that causes warming by causing CO2 deserts
58:34 Preventing the next ice age
59:37 NE Siberia didn't have an ice sheet
01:01:29 Q and A
