Insane pickup journey to active snowy volcano in Ecuador 🇪🇨

When you're in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, it's quite obvious that you're surrounded by mountains, and then you find out about the volcanos. Quito is surrounded by active volcanos, pretty much in every direction, but have they erupted recently? Well, Cotopaxi Volcano, the volcano that we'll be visiting in this video erupted in 2015.

On a clear day, you can see the snow capped peak of Cotopaxi Volcano, and it looks epic.

We met up with Ricardo who would be driving us to Cotopaxi Volcano. He had been before, so he knew the deal.

We first arrived at this sort of visitors centre, grabbed some drinks, went to the toilet, then jumped back in the car for a bumpy ride to the car park. From this car park we jumped in the back of a pickup truck for one of the most uncomfortable rides of our lives. We were holding on to that piece of plastic so tightly so it didn't fly away and our hands were freezing. There was hail, snow, wind, rain and it was well below zero.

Ricardo isn't used to the cold and Tanya doesn't like the cold. I don't the cold really, but this was not fun.

When we got out of the pickup truck at the top of the volcano, my back was completely frozen as my hoodie had lifted up and been exposed the whole time. Ricardo was frozen to the bone and could not wait to leave!

We took a quick bit of footage and got back down to the car park but this time inside of the car instead of in the back. This was far more comfortable and it had heated seats.

It was a pretty cool experience to walk up an active volcano. I had no intention of hiking up the snow though.
