"The Pugilist" is a Jeffrey Kelley film. The story follows the life of an aging boxer, Seamus, suffering from brain damage in the form of CTE the identity crisis he undergoes by learning he can no longer fight.

As Seamus and Brooke, his wife, begin to make peace with his condition, Bruce, Seamus' manager, attempts to convince Seamus to return to the ring for a number one contender's fight.
