The Haunted Graveyard VR

Join me on an unusual venture into scarier territory with The Haunted Graveyard. I'm not one for scary games, but having seen the trailer and enjoyed the character animation (and seeing it on sale on Steam) I decided to give it a go. Turns out it's very short, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Over the festive period I broke my original headset - an Acer Mixed Reality device that I'd owned since the early days of Mixed Reality on Windows 10.

I damaged the controller by blindly punching my desk chair during a game of GORN, and at the same time dislodged the ceiling lamp which - after being hit many times since I started playing vr games - decided it was going to have a Death Or Glory attempt at taking me with it! It came down and damaged a tracking camera on the headset along the way.

After all consideration I decided to go for a HTC Vive Cosmos as being nicely affordable. Six tracking cameras improve the tracking of the controllers, which link directly to the headset and so free up a USB slot from being the bluetooth link. The built-in speakers and mic are pretty poor, but with the addition of a USB-C 3.5mm adaptor (which you need to be sure to insert firmly) my standard headphones and mic work as normal.
