What do people actually need when they want money?hod #shorts

While contemplating on the reason why my son doesn’t want to play the drums I bought him (at least not yet), I realized he never really wanted drums. I bought the set, because I thought it fits his rhythm and dexterity. But I didn’t really give him the freedom to choose. I was excited he would be so cool playing the drums 😊(Instead now, I will be cool playing kids-sized drums).
This experience got me thinking about freedom, and freedom of choice. We fight all our lives to be free – to express ourselves, to be independent from other people, to experience the world in our own way.
These are exactly the reasons why people strive to have money, apart from the need to survive (which, in the presence of the freedoms above, can be done without money).
We are actually looking for freedom of our own actions, the lack of physical and social pressure, the ability to build our lives in the dimensions that we want.
The combined means to provide all that is not called money. It is called well-being, and it means our ability to manage everything we need in our lives. Moreover, we need to be able to change the quality and quantity of all these instruments. Money is only a universal key to have that, the common denominator for the resources that we need.
