To Love Them the Right Way, Imagine You Don’t Love Them

We can become so subjective when advising those we love so much. We lose clarity. But if we were to encounter a stranger with the same problems, our clarity returns. What helps me when walking a close friend or family member through something is to "pretend" they are that stranger.
