Assassin's Creed Has A Huge Protagonist Problem

Assassin's Creed has had a big protagonist problem for a handful of years now. Ezio Auditore da Firenze is arguably one of the best video game characters of all time. He's iconic, has starred in several games and is seen as the face of the Assassin's Creed franchise. With that said, he's also been a bit of a burden on the series, as players constantly feel the need to relate and compare every protagonist with him. Obviously, the Luke Skywalkers of any franchise will always be iconic, and a standard for future characters, but this problem runs a lot deeper than a simple comparison. It seems that there is a need, from at least a vocal minority of fans, for characters to be inspired by and based off of this character directly. In many ways, this problem stems from creating too good of a character. #assassinscreed #assassinscreedmirage #assassinscreedinfinity
